Chike Releases Long-Awaited Album ‘Son Of Chike’

The pop/soul award-winner channeled his roots to mark his exciting return with his third studio album, a twelve-track celebration of heritage.

Celebrating his identity as his father’s son, as well as his family name ‘Osebuka’, Chike takes us on a heartfelt and relatable journey, packed with emotion and a sense of familiarity. Inspired by his family heritage, he dives deep into the essence of the human experience, such as the beauty of love in the bonds of family through the journey of life, the beauty of romance, and the joy of celebration.

“I am Osebuka, the son of my father, and this album symbolizes and celebrates my heritage and identity as a son of Chike and my new musical offspring joining the ranks of those that came before.”

The project comes two years after his highly acclaimed sophomore album ‘The Brother’s Keeper’, and ‘Boo of the Booless’ before that.

The album begins with a defiant ‘Unto You’, which features Ladipoe, and highlights the importance of staying true to oneself. The second track off the album, ‘Egwu’, featuring the late star Mohbad, has already amassed a staggering 250+ million streams across platforms.

Assisted by artists like Beauty, Xing Madi, Olamide, and Amaeya, Chike explores more themes like the complexities of romantic relationships, endurance in love and passion, the beauty of cultural pride and personal connection, as he celebrates the strength and beauty of his heritage. Into the second half of the album, he explores the pain of unfulfilled promises, independence and self worth, and humility and gratitude.

The flawless production of DeeYasso, Tee-Y Mix, Kunjah, and Akybeats, paired with Chike’s soulful vocals and captivating storytelling, make for the perfectly rich sound to keep you hooked from start to finish. The album is not just a collection of songs, but an emotional journey that feels familiar to listeners. Give it a listen and join Chike on this profound journey. Out on all major streaming platforms.
