Chocolate City Music, a leading independent record label in Africa, marks its 20th anniversary with grand celebrations and the launch of two groundbreaking initiatives: the Nutrybe Academy and the Chocolate City Music Founders Fund.
Founded in Nigeria in 2005 by Audu Maikori, Paul Okeugo, and Yahaya Maikori, Chocolate City Music has become a cornerstone in Africa’s urban music scene. Boasting a roster that includes Blaqbonez, Young Jonn, and Candy Bleakz, the label has been instrumental in propelling the Afrobeats genre to global acclaim.
Nutrybe Academy aims to nurture emerging talent through comprehensive developmental resources, providing aspiring creatives with essential skills and mentorship to thrive in the entertainment industry.
Chocolate City Music Founders Fund will empower young creative entrepreneurs, focusing on females, with financial backing and resources to foster innovation. The initial phase allocates up to $250,000, with plans for further expansion.
