Nairobi, Kenya – What began as a quiet return has now settled into a steady rhythm. Sebuleni, Nairobi’s evolving deep house listening space, continues its journey on Sunday, May 31st at The Rift, reaffirming its place not as an event, but as a monthly cultural ritual anchored in sound, community, and shared presence.

Held every last Sunday of the month, Sebuleni has quickly grown into a gathering point for those seeking something more intentional – a space where music is not performed at a crowd, but lived within it.
The format remains simple yet deliberate: DJs positioned within the room, guiding a continuous sonic narrative that unfolds gradually from afternoon light into the depth of night.
The experience resists spectacle, choosing instead to prioritize feeling, connection, and the natural pacing of a shared environment.

The May 31st edition extends this philosophy into a full 12-hour arc, running from 4PM to 4AM, where each selector contributes to a single, evolving story. The evening begins with Sonnie Jo, setting a gentle tone that allows the room to settle, before Burugu and Kiptala build the groove into motion.
As night deepens, SirOontzAlot introduces a textured, expressive layer, followed by Kadawa, whose set sharpens the pulse and energy of the room.
Closing the night, Dennkev brings the experience into a grounded, soulful resolution – a signature ending that has already become a defining element of Sebuleni’s identity.

Beyond the music, Sebuleni continues to expand its immersive offering. Guests can expect a curated culinary experience featuring a barbecue menu alongside a jollof bar – including jollof sushi and small plates that encourage sharing, conversation, and ease.
The space itself remains integral to the experience, with The Rift offering a layered environment where movement, conversation, and creativity coexist – from the living room atmosphere below to the rooftop energy above.
At its core, Sebuleni is built on a simple idea: that it takes a village to create a meaningful gathering. It welcomes both the familiar and the unfamiliar – a convergence of like-minded individuals and curious newcomers – united by a shared openness to rhythm, creativity, and connection.
As Sebuleni continues to grow, it does so with intention.
Not by chasing scale, but by deepening experience. Not by amplifying noise, but by refining feeling.

Sebuleni returns on May 31st.
Every last Sunday of the month.A room. A rhythm. A place to come back to.
