JOHANNESBURG, SA – Rising South African star Xowié releases her debut
EP ALLO today, featuring her new single, “Bittersweet” featuring Kenya’s afro-soul
powerhouse, Bensoul. The track arrives on the momentum of her first single, Nobody’s
Fool, and as Bensoul rides high on his latest hit Kautamu Fulani, which is
dominatingEast African charts.
Bittersweet showcases the synergy between their voices while they trade verses about
love’s painful contradictions. The collaboration was born from a moment of
spontaneous creativity between the duo during a writing camp in Johannesburg.
“I met Bensoul during a writing camp here in SA with the Sauti Sol crew. We spent two
days creating music, and ‘Bittersweet’ came together on their final day – ironically while
Bensoul was on the road shooting a music video for one of his own songs. The process was
magical and flowed naturally,” recalls Xowié.
Xowié’s EP, ALLO traces a clear arc from vulnerability to empowerment. Bittersweet
captures the complexity of a fading relationship, setting the stage for Nobody’s Fool’s
unapologetic breakup anthem. The middle tracks pivot forward—Change rallies for
personal growth, while Home reflects on roots—before closing with the quiet assurance

ABOUT XOWIÉ
Hailing from Northern KZN, Xowié’s music is shaped by an eclectic mix of influences,
from R&B and Pop to Reggae, all of which fueled her passion for storytelling through
song. Inspired by iconic voices like Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, and Lauryn Hill, as well as
contemporary stars SZA, Victoria Monét, and Raye, her work explores themes of self-
confidence, body positivity, and love.
Rooted in the values instilled by her deeply religious grandmother and mother, Xowié
aims to empower Black women—especially those from townships—to dream beyond
their circumstances.
Her breakout single, “Rainy Days,” introduced her as a rising force in R&B/Soul, paving
the way for signing with Exodus Records. Now, with “Nobody’s Fool” and her debut
EP ALLO, Xowié solidifies her place as a bold, unapologetically authentic voice in today’s
