TikTok and SoundCloud have announced a strategic new partnership that brings SoundCloud integration to TikTok’s expanding Add to Music App feature. This collaboration is designed to enhance the user experience by allowing music lovers to seamlessly save songs they discover on TikTok directly to their SoundCloud libraries, bridging the gap between discovery and streaming like never before.
Launched globally in 2024, TikTok’s Add to Music App feature has quickly become a game-changer in the music streaming landscape. The tool enables users to save songs discovered on TikTok directly to their preferred streaming platforms, bridging social engagement with sustained listening. Since its debut, the feature has driven over one billion track saves and sparked billions of streams across supported services underscoring TikTok’s growing influence in music discovery and consumption.
Starting today, TikTok users will notice a new layer of integration with SoundCloud, enabling them to seamlessly save tracks from TikTok directly to their Liked Tracks playlist on the platform. Home to over 400 million tracks from more than 40 million artists, SoundCloud continues to cement its reputation as a vital hub for emerging talent, underground sounds, and genre-defying creativity.
The partnership between TikTok and SoundCloud aims to deepen the relationship between artists and fans by turning fleeting discovery moments into lasting connections.
“SoundCloud has always been the go-to platform for discovering what’s next in music,” said Emmy Lovell, SoundCloud’s Global Head of Music. “Partnering with TikTok makes it easier than ever for fans to save the songs they love and stay connected with the artists behind them.
This integration helps turn casual listeners into lifelong superfans while strengthening our commitment to fuelling the next generation of music culture.”
The announcement also arrives alongside the launch of Move Your Music, a new feature from SoundCloud that empowers users to transfer their entire music libraries including liked tracks and playlists from platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, TIDAL, Deezer, and Amazon Music. This dual rollout underscores SoundCloud’s push to become a more centralized hub for music fans, offering a seamless way to consolidate listening habits and personalize their streaming experience under one roof.
Lindsey Kelt Zikry, TikTok’s Global Product Partnerships Lead, emphasized the impact of the Add to Music App, noting that tens of millions of users already use the feature to save tracks they discover on TikTok to their preferred streaming platforms.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with SoundCloud, one of the leading platforms helping artists bring their music from concept to audience,” she said. “This collaboration supports emerging and aspiring artists in reaching new fans — and turning them into superfans.”
On TikTok, the Add to Music App feature appears as an Add Song button below a track name on videos in the For You feed. The first time a user taps it, they are prompted to select their preferred streaming service, such as SoundCloud, as their default — a setting that can be easily updated via TikTok’s Settings and Privacy menu at any time.
Once SoundCloud is selected, the track is automatically saved to a default playlist, and the platform becomes the user’s go-to service for future music saves. Additionally, the feature is accessible directly from an artist’s Sound Detail Page, offering fans multiple opportunities to save and revisit their favorite tracks.
This partnership further demonstrates the evolving relationship between digital platforms, as both TikTok and SoundCloud continue to lead the charge in supporting artist discovery and fostering fan engagement.
