Nigerian/Ghanaian executive producer, songwriter and entrepreneur Hmusic (Harrison Ekeoma Osondu Iheke) is preparing to unveil his most ambitious creative vision to date with the launch of the Grounded Universe – a multi-dimensional ecosystem bringing together music, technology, culture and community.
Scheduled to launch this September, the Grounded Universe introduces three interconnected initiatives: “Grounded,” a new collaborative single, the debut of the Hmusic App, and a major cultural celebration at the New Jersey Ghana Music Festival in the United States. Together, the releases reflect Hmusic’s commitment to creating opportunities for independent artists while strengthening connections between African creatives, the diaspora and global audiences.
Rather than positioning Grounded as a standalone music release, Hmusic describes the project as the foundation of a broader creative movement designed to empower artists beyond traditional industry models. The Grounded Universe aims to combine authentic storytelling, digital innovation and community engagement into a single ecosystem where creators and fans can build lasting relationships.
At the centre of the launch is “Grounded,” a new single featuring Mr Raw, Magnito, Eddieblaze and Kwaku Geezy, produced by acclaimed producer Mekoyo, whose production credits include Styl-Plus’ enduring classic “Olufunmi.” The record explores themes of resilience, identity, purpose and authenticity, encouraging listeners to remain connected to their roots while navigating personal growth, success and life’s evolving journey.

The collaboration brings together respected voices from Nigeria and Ghana, celebrating the strength of cross-border African creativity. By uniting artists from both countries on a single record, the project reinforces the growing cultural exchange shaping today’s African music landscape while highlighting the continent’s expanding influence across global audiences.
Complementing the single is the launch of the Hmusic App, an all-in-one digital platform designed to support independent musicians throughout their creative journey. The application will provide artists with tools to create, upload, distribute and promote their music while giving listeners new ways to discover emerging talent, engage with creators and participate in an evolving music community. Scheduled to launch on both iOS and Android later in September, the platform reflects Hmusic’s vision of using technology to make music ecosystems more accessible and artist-focused.
The Grounded Universe will officially be celebrated during the New Jersey Ghana Music Festival, a cultural gathering dedicated to showcasing Ghanaian and African music, food, fashion and heritage. Bringing together artists, entrepreneurs, creatives and members of the African diaspora, the festival provides an ideal backdrop for introducing a project built around culture, collaboration and community.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the initiative, Hmusic shared:
“Grounded began as a song, but it evolved into a movement. I wanted to create something that lives beyond streaming – something that gives artists more opportunities, gives fans a deeper connection to music, and uses technology to bring our creative community closer together. Grounded represents where we come from, where we are going, and the power of staying connected to our purpose.”
The launch represents an important milestone in Hmusic’s journey as both a creative and entrepreneur. By combining original music, digital innovation and live cultural experiences under one vision, the Grounded Universe reflects a growing movement among African creatives who are expanding beyond conventional music releases to build sustainable platforms and communities around their work.

As African music continues to reach new audiences around the world, initiatives such as the Grounded Universe demonstrate how artists are increasingly embracing entrepreneurship, technology and cultural collaboration to create opportunities that extend beyond the recording studio.
“Grounded” will be available on all major streaming platforms this September, while the Hmusic App will launch later in the month on iOS and Android. The Grounded Universe will make its public debut during the New Jersey Ghana Music Festival, where audiences will experience the movement’s vision through music, innovation and community.
