Lagos city’s signature season of music, performance and cultural celebration grows even larger in 2025 as Livespot360 unveils Detty December Festival, a citywide, multi-stage celebration of music, culture, and nightlife running from 6–31 December 2025 across Lagos.
Branded “Africa’s Real Summer,” the festival offers a month-long immersion of world-class performances, pop-up stage takeovers, day-to-night parties, fashion and culinary experiences, art installations, and citywide cultural activations designed for both homegrown fans and the global diaspora returning for the festive season, staged across two flagship venues: Ilubirin (Ikoyi) and The Livespot Entertainarium (Lekki).
Building on its legacy of world-class programming, Detty December Fest has announced the first wave of headline performers, including Busta Rhymes, Juma Jux, and Bella Shmurda, alongside a rolling calendar of variety shows and themed nights designed to capture the full breadth of Lagos’ holiday energy.

This edition of Detty December Fest is presented with the national endorsement of Nigeria’s Minister of Art, Culture & the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, who appears in an official festival message acknowledging the event’s role in promoting cultural tourism and showcasing Nigeria’s creative industries to the world.
The Minister’s support underscores the festival’s growing significance as both an economic driver and a cultural export for the country.
“Detty December is regarded as a cultural pilgrimage and creative economy catalyst across Africa. We’re meeting real demand with real infrastructure, turning seasonal footfall into measurable outcomes for hospitality, mobility, retail, and night-time economy,” said Deola Art Alade, Founder & Group CEO, Livespot360.
Across four weeks, audiences can expect headline concerts, cinematic live experiences, intimate club nights and family-friendly programming that reflect the pan-African pulse of the season.
Business and travel press have long recognized the December season in Lagos as a major driver of inbound tourism and cultural exchange. Organizers say the 2025 lineup and expanded format aim to build on that momentum by offering a diverse program that speaks to diasporic communities, international visitors and local festival-goers alike.
Dare Art Alade, Co-founder & Chief Creative Officer, Livespot360, added: “This is a homecoming you can taste, hear, and wear. From culinary to runway to live music, we’re spotlighting the people who shape African style and sound — with space for discovery.”
A Month of Music, Culture, and Nightlife
Detty December’s twin venues set the tone for immersive celebration:
• Ilubirin, Ikoyi (Bourdillon Road) — a waterfront stage and event precinct that will host the festival’s grand opening spectacles and major headline concerts.
• The Livespot Entertarium, Lekki (Oba Elegushi Beach Road) — known for high production values and nightclub-scale programming, the Entertarium will deliver club nights, themed parties and curated sets.
The festival comes alive through four immersive pillars that define the citywide experience:
Music: A pulsating lineup blending Afrobeats, Amapiano, R&B, and Hip-Hop, featuring Africa’s top stars alongside global icons.
Nightlife: From sun-soaked day parties to high-energy midnight raves, with curated brand activations, pop-up stages, and unforgettable experiences across the city.
Culture: Fashion drops, culinary showcases, art installations, and curated film and lifestyle moments reflecting the heart of Lagos’ creative scene.
Community: A homecoming for locals and diaspora visitors alike, offering safe, immersive experiences that connect fans with the people shaping African music and culture.
Food, Fashion, Film & Family: A Full Cultural Plate: Beyond concerts, the fest will host culinary pop-ups, fashion showcases and the festival’s signature variety programming – all designed to expand the “Detty” idea beyond music into a weekend-long cultural experience. A specially curated film series and talks programme will accompany the festival at select dates, creating opportunities for deeper engagement with the creative industries.
There is also a renewed focus on family and education through programmes tailored to younger audiences and cultural learners — signaling the festival’s commitment to inclusion as it scales.
