A fortnight ago, Lagos transformed into a vibrant hub of creativity as the Homecoming Festival 2025 unfolded. An annual event, founded by Grace Ladoja MBE, has now become a cornerstone in celebrating African culture, bringing together music, fashion, art, and community in a dynamic showcase.
Hosted across several landmark venues in Lagos, Homecoming 2025 united some of the biggest names in African and global creative industries. With performances from the likes of Davido, Llona, Odumodublvck, Minz, Lady Donli, Rigokamp, Kold, Juno, and co – the stage was ablaze with artistry and sonic energy, reminding everyone why Lagos continues to lead the charge in Afrobeats and youth culture movements.

Music Custodian On Ground To Documenting the Pulse of a Generation At Homecoming Festival 2025
As part of our commitment to telling the stories that shape African sound and style, Music Custodian was live on ground at Homecoming 2025. The festival commenced with an immersive art tour, guiding attendees through Lagos’ rich artistic landscape. Highlights included visits to O’DA Art Gallery, featuring works by Soji Adesina, and the iconic Nike Art Gallery, where attendees experienced a tapestry of Nigerian artistry.
It was a weekend of immersion, conversation, connection, and creative witnessing. And we’ll be rolling out visual stories and interviews across our platforms in the coming weeks to share this with the community.
The Summit at Ebonylife Cinemas offered a platform for meaningful conversations. Panels delved into topics like brand identity in music, with DJ Spinall sharing insights on personal branding, and discussions on the importance of archiving Nigeria’s musical history. As night fell, the city pulsed with energy during the Homecoming Festival 2025 Hi-Fi rave. DJs like Sons of Ubuntu and Aniko electrified the crowd, setting the stage for the festival’s climax.
The crowd energy at Homecoming this year was electric—raw, rowdy, and unified in rhythm. From the moment the doors opened, there was a tangible sense of cultural pride in the air.
Whether moshing to street-hop bangers or swaying to soulful ballads, the audience wasn’t just present—they were fully immersed in the performance. The live show at Harbour Point featured a vibrant lineup of emerging talents and was headlined by Afrobeats superstar Davido, who thrilled fans with a surprise appearance by Odumodublvck. Rising act Shoday delivered a raucous, high-energy set, while Juno, Valentina Rose, Lady Donli, and RigoKamp each took the stage with their distinct flair and standout performances—drawing cheers and sing-alongs from an electric crowd.
We captured key crowd moments and live feeds that will form part of our upcoming documentary capsule series—archiving not only what was performed but how it was received. It’s these moments of sonic communion that continue to define Homecoming. From the jump, our cameras rolled through the corridors and courtyards of the event—capturing not only the performances but the very energy that pulsed through the crowd.
Backstage, we hosted a series of artist interviews post-performance, with real-time reactions, unfiltered conversations, and candid reflections from some of the weekend’s standout acts. Artists shared insight into their creative journeys, fan love, and what Homecoming personally meant to them. These sit-downs revealed a deeper layer to the glam and roar of performance nights.
Fashion was at the forefront, with pop-up shops and showcases highlighting the creativity of Nigerian designers. Attendees donned eclectic styles, reflecting the country’s vibrant fashion scene and the festival’s role in promoting cultural expression.

Beyond the events, Homecoming Festival 2025 fostered a sense of unity and pride among attendees. It served as a testament to Lagos’ position as a cultural epicenter, bridging the gap between local creatives and the global stage. A genius initiative that has once again proven that Lagos isn’t just a city—it’s a cultural lighthouse, attracting dreamers, creatives, and innovators from across the globe.
As custodians of sound, story, and spirit, we’re honored to have been present, stay tuned for exclusive interviews, visual recaps, and on-the-ground footage—because this was an event that’s a timestamp of where the culture is — and where it’s headed next.
