Kenyan singer-songwriter Njerae is ushering in a new chapter of her musical journey with the upcoming release of her latest single, “Ingia Ndani,” – a track that arrived on March 13, 2026.
The emotionally layered record sees the award-winning Afro-Indie artist leaning further into the soulful and intimate sound that has defined her rise within East Africa’s alternative music landscape.
Produced by acclaimed Kenyan producer Hendrick Sam, whose work includes records such as “Extra Pressure” by Bien Aime Baraza and Bensoul, as well as “Show You Off” by Savara, the single promises a warm yet catchy sonic palette built around emotional vulnerability.

Translated from Swahili as “come inside,” “Ingia Ndani” explores the delicate act of letting someone into your emotional world.
According to Njerae, the song reflects the universal tension between craving deep connection and the fear of being fully seen.
“It’s about letting someone past the surface,” she explains. “A lot of us want connection but are scared of being vulnerable. This song is me saying, if you’re here, then really be here.” The record blends playful intimacy with honest reflection, capturing the moment where emotional walls begin to soften.
The release follows Njerae’s ‘Four Letter Word (Deluxe)’ EP, which dropped in October and expanded her sonic palette through collaborations with Canadian artist Preston Pablo and Kenyan singer Bensoul.
The project saw the Nairobi-based artist experiment with electronic textures alongside her signature Afro-Indie and R&B-influenced songwriting, marking an important step in her artistic evolution since her debut album “Unintentional.”
That album has since surpassed 10 million streams, while its breakout single “Aki Sioni” has crossed 6 million streams, cementing the track as one of Kenya’s most resonant heartbreak anthems.
Njerae’s rise has been one of the most compelling in East Africa’s contemporary music scene. After signing a major recording deal with Universal Music Group East Africa in 2024, the singer has continued to expand her global footprint.

In 2025, she was selected for Apple Music’s Africa Rising program and named Spotify’s Global EQUAL Africa ambassador for June of that year. She also became the most-streamed Kenyan female artist on Spotify, while “Aki Sioni” emerged as the most-streamed Kenyan song on the platform domestically.
With “Ingia Ndani,” Njerae once again invites listeners into her world – a space where vulnerability, storytelling, and melody meet with quiet but undeniable power.
